Dilip Shanghvi (born on 1 October 1955) is an Indian businessman and one of the richest persons in India. He is the founder and managing director of Sun Pharmaceuticals.

Early life and education of Dilip Shanghvi
Dilip was born in small town of Amreli in Gujarat on 1 October 1955. Shanghvi earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calcutta He is an alumnus of J. J. Ajmera High School and Bhawanipur Education Society College, from where he did his schooling and graduation, respectively.

Dilip Shanghvi's Career
He started by helping his father in the latter's wholesale generic drugs business in Kolkata. It was during his work as a drugs distributor at Kolkata, he thought of manufacturing his own drugs instead of selling others' products.

Dilip Shanghvi started Sun Pharmaceutical Industries with capital of Rs 10,000 in 1982 at Vapi.Shanghvi founded Sun Pharmaceuticals in 1983 with five psychiatry products. Today, it is India's largest drugmaker and most valuable drug company. Appreciation of Sun's stock led to a 50% surge in his personal wealth, amounting to USD 4.7 billion. As of August 2014, he has a net worth of $17.2 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaire's Index. He has also been named in the list of Asia’s top ten wealthiest self-made billionaires, according to Wealth-X. Shanghvi is also the Chairman and Managing Director of Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company and Shantilal Shanghvi Foundation.
In 1997, he acquired Caraco Pharma, a loss-making American company, with the aim of expanding Sun's reach in the United States and turned them around in no time. Both the deals have paid off; the US now accounts for 60% of Sun's revenue. He also acquired Israel's Taro Pharma in 2007. He is also credited with steering Sun Pharma to fifth place in the global generic drugs market.

Lakshmi Mittal's Education and Early Life
Lakshmi Narayan Mittal alias Lakshmi Niwas Mittal was born on June 15th, 1950, in Sadulpur, a village which didn't have electricity until 1960's, in Rajasthan, India. Mittal studied at Shri Daulatram Nopany Vidyalaya from 1957 to 1964.  His family moved to Calcutta in West Bengal, where he studied accounting and business at the prestigious St. Xavier's College. He graduated with a B.Com degree from the University of Calcutta. His father Mohan Lal Mittal had set up a small steel mill in Calcutta. After class, Mittal used to work in his father's company Nippon Denro Ispat.

After witnessing India win only one medal, bronze, in the 2000 Summer Olympics, and one medal, silver, at the 2004 Summer Olympics, Mittal decided to set up Mittal Champions Trust with $9 million to support 10 Indian athletes with world-beating potential. In 2009, the Foundation along with Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan founded the Usha Lakshmi Mittal Institute of Management in New Delhi.

His residence at 18-19 Kensington Palace Gardens—which was purchased from Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone in 2004 for £67 million (US$128 million)—made it the world's most expensive house at the time. The house is decorated with marble taken from the same quarry that supplied the Taj Mahal. The extravagant show of wealth has been referred to as the "Taj Mittal".It has 12 bedrooms, an indoor pool, Turkish baths and parking for 20 cars.

Being a vegetarian, Mittal threw a lavish "vegetarian reception" for Vanisha in the Palace of Versailles, France.
